Why Was I Staring at Decapitated Greek God
While a Dialysis Patient Attacked the Twin Towers?
Blazing Reader,
"What were you doing when you heard about John F. Kennedy's assassination?"
My father told me this was a common question in the late sixties and seventies. (For the record, he was in front of a TV in his rectory. He was a Catholic priest at the time.)
I, of course, wasn't born yet. So I've no idea where I was when JFK got shot. But I do remember where I was when I heard about 9/11.
On September 11, 2001, around 3 p.m. Italian time, I was studying fine art in an academy in Florence, Tuscany...

The other students and I were at our easels, rendering charcoal drawings of a dismembered and decapitated sculpture of Hercules — the famous Belvedere Torso...

The instructor, who had left for a smoke break, rushed back into the studio with a computer printout.
"Scusate tutti!" he announced. "Excuse me, everyone!"
I remember he sounded giddy as he read a news report about how two planes had been flown into two towers in New York City.
The American students gasped. A Japanese student cried. And the Italians were like, "It's war! They had it coming to them." (Florentines, it turns out, aren't into sentimentality.)
Over the next couple of days, the news reports made about as much sense to me as Leonardo da Vinci's backwards handwriting. I wasn't buying the official story that third-world terrorists operating out of a cave in the Middle East, with their leader on dialysis, infiltrated the most highly protected airspace in the world.
Anyway, most of my readers are well-versed in 9/11 conspiracy theory. Like COVID-19 and Epstein Island, 9/11 woke a lot of people up to the psychopathic bent of the so-called elite.
My novel, All the Humans Are Sleeping, tells the story of another act of democide, taking place on the same day, 44 years later...
“Excavation of tens of thousands of Metaverse hubs had begun on January 1st, 2035. Their construction was completed a mere forty days before the first bomb fell on September 11, 2045. Some said it was miraculous timing; others said it was conspiratorial.
“The hubs were buried deep into the frozen landscapes of northern Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia and Russia, along with another thousand situated along the coast of the Antarctic. They were subterranean prisons for all the humans who were unfortunate enough to survive.”
Sharon Mikeworth, PhD, Titan Literary Award-winning author, says, "All the Humans Are Sleeping is a thought-inducing tale that immerses the reader into a future both chillingly plausible and achingly relatable. Highly recommended for fans of speculative science fiction steeped in atmosphere and emotion.”
This 9/11, why not purchase a copy for a friend or family member? Copies are available in ebook, audiobook and paperback formats.
